How to Make Money with Your iPhone

by: Craig Lloyd

How to Make Money with Your iPhone

There are plenty of iPhone apps that can save you money, but what about apps that can make you money? Here’s how to make money with your iPhone.
First off, this isn’t one of those infomercials where I tell you how you can make money by doing practically nothing, just as long as you have an iPhone. It take some effort to make money with your iPhone, but if you have some time to spare after work or you find yourself bored on a Saturday, these are great ways to earn a little bit of extra cash.
When you think about how you could make money with your iPhone, the only thing that may come to mind is selling the iPhone to get some money for it, but you didn’t to get that drastic. Instead, you can make money with a handful of apps available for the iPhone.
Again, these aren’t “get rich quick” schemes by any means, but with a little time and effort, these iPhone apps can get you some extra cash in your pocket for a rainy day.
Without further ado, here’s how you can make money using your iPhone.

Sell Your Old Stuff

Using just your iPhone, you can use the eBay app to take pictures and sell all of your old stuff to make some money.

The eBay app lets you easily sell anything right from your iPhone. Simply just create an eBay account, create a new listing, take a photo of the item with your iPhone, enter in some details about the item, and then post it for sale on eBay. From there, people will bid on it, buy it, and then you simply just ship the item to them quickly and easily.
It’s a really convenient app to do, and when I’m bored on the weekends, I’ll just go to my pile of old stuff, take pictures of it and post it on eBay right on my iPhone.

Earn Beer Money

If you’ve never heard the term “beer money,” it’s essentially small amounts of cash that you make on the side, giving you enough so that you can buy beer or whatever else you want. It’s not a lot of money, of course, but it’s enough that you can enjoy the smaller things in life.

An app called Swagbucks allows you to earn gift cards to various stores by watching videos, searching the web, answering surveys, and more.
Watching a short video could get you 10 Swagbucks, and after you build up enough Swagbucks, you can trade those points in for gift cards, with $5 gift cards costing 500 Swagbucks. With that said, it can take a while to build up enough Swagbucks to get a gift card, and breaking down the hourly rate probably doesn’t look too good, but you can spend your free time on the app and earn money when you’re bored.

Another similar app is Shopkick, which requires a bit more hands-on approach, as you get points for walking into stores and scanning products with the iPhone’s camera within the app. You actually don’t have to buy anything to earn points either.
After you earn enough points in Shopkick, you can trade those in for gift cards, just like with Swagbucks.

Earn Vegas Vouchers

Not many iPhone games give you free stuff in return for playing the game. In fact, many iPhone games like to take your money. However, MyVegas Slots is a free iPhone game that lets you earn vouchers that you can redeem at a number of hotels and casinos in Las Vegas.

All you do in the game is play slot machines, and you earn chips when you win. These chips can then be redeemed for various vouchers that you can use in Las Vegas, like a free drink, a free meal at a buffet, free show tickets, and even a free night at a hotel on The Strip.
It certainly takes a lot of time to play and earn up enough chips to get a voucher. I played the game off an on for several months and eventually got enough chips to earn a free night at a mediocre hotel off of The Strip.
