6 Big Mistakes That SEO Rookies Make

columnist John Lincoln was in this business a long time - and seen a lot of the same error. Learn from the mistakes of others SEO newbies at the beginning of your career off on the right foot.

SEO mistakes

If you are new to search engine optimization, you make more errors than a seasoned pro. It is a complicated line of work, and it is really not well until they have great experience.

Often they do not even know that you are making a mistake when you make it. There is just so much to know in the area and so much history.

I wrote this post to help the under degree of SEO. Here are the 6 biggest mistakes i have noticed SEO beginners make and how to avoid them.

1. Not to know what you do not know

good SEO practitioners know a indisputable truth: they are never finished learning.

You will notice that all technical discipline requires the permanent education. This is perhaps true of SEO than from other business operations.

Why? Because Google uses an algorithm to determine how the pages have organized and they do not pay for this algorithm to remain the same.

Your SEO efforts that got you to the top of the search engine results pages (SERPs) in May 2014 will be less effective in 2016. You can also notice that your existing pages perform the dreaded "Google Dance" - this means that you move in the SERPs, because the algorithm changes.

What do you know about the latest Google Algorithm change? If you can not answer, then this is what you do not know. Change by using the documented changes which are common.

Also, if you are just beginning in SEO, absolutely pore online on various authoritative sources about how successfully to rank a web page. Specifically make sure what works and what does not work from the recently published articles. It is quite possible that a ranking strategy that was popular, six months ago not working, not even more.

The first time i in SEO, I read every contribution I could on Search Engine Land that Google Webmaster Central, mon, you name it. But I still do not know the half of what I know today. If you are new, SEO, it is very important to note that you do not know it yet. It is in order to ask questions to the supervisor or would you tell a customer, "I must be fully to research, and get back to you." In most cases the customer will respect.

Think you know everything? Try your luck at some of these basic SEO questions.

Here are some of the questions that I ask during the interview. Feel free to use this the next time you interview an SEO-advisor.

    2. Not directly on bad numbers

if the figures are bad, they need to be honest with the customer as to why they are bad. If it is not caused by incorrect strategies, and instead is because of something that broke out on the site of the customer or a technical problem, you must be aware that, too.

When it comes to SEO, it is not good to dance around the problems of poor performance. Questions need to be addressed, with head. If it is not your fault, make it clear why. If this is the case, you must set itself up and fix it.

On the other hand, if you try to use the same thing over and over again, and it does not work, it is time to try something else. It is possible to try an old SEO strategy that is not working. Even worse, you might try a tricky strategy, Google recognizes as an attempt to manipulate its algorithm and your web site could be penalized.

For example, if you still have much lower quality links and expects its rankings to go, you will be disappointed. You will probably be some rankings for a few months and then you leave the site with a terrible punishment.

Conclusion: if their reports are bad, frankly about why. If the report is bad, because they do not have the right strategy, you should reach out to a supervisor. I will talk more about strategy in my next point.

    3. Not to focus on the most important points to improve revenue

in SEO, it is tempting to focus your efforts on the classification of pages with "easy" key words, even if these pages do not contribute to sales growth as much as the other. Avoid plucking low-hanging fruit, just because it makes your job a little less boring.

Make sure that you use the following steps:

Focus on key words that result in a sufficiently large.
No need to waste time with strategies that have no role to play. Forget the little technical stuff - save that for the end!
Create quarterly strategic plans that are linked directly to the business goals.
Good content and good connections are the most important elements - never forget that (i.e., as long as nothing is technically wrong or broken on the website, what happens a lot). Note that "good content" can mean a lot of things: a good landing page, a good category template to a good blog. You will need your on-side as well.

    4. Stick too close to the Treaty

so that you have an agreement with your customer that spells from certain SEO responsibilities. It lists a series of "Du shalts" and "Thou shalt arm."

hold a guideline, but as a mandate. Good, not the "Thou shalt arm" part ... this is a mandate.

    But please keep in mind…

When a sales representative sells a SEO Service, they do their best with the services. Often, you do an excellent job. But it is your job to ensure that the services are provided and executed. But even if you do not have the right services, it is your job to change them so that you have the correct services.

For example, say that your contract are 30 info graphic - but when you more, you notice all content on the website has been stolen by dozens of partner sites. Forget the info graphics, the contents of the problem is solved.

In addition, I usually have no problems with the addition of more services here and there, if the customer needs it. We call it client remarketing.

    5. Not always help until it is too late,

although good SEO takes time, it should not take forever. Their efforts to promote the rank of a website should be noticeable, within a period of six months (depending on the side and keyword you try to rank).

However, if you do not notice any results at all after a few months, it might be time to ping an experienced SEO professional for help.

You see, the owner of the website you are trying to rank will check the SERPs, as well. If he or she does not see no results, then after a while could quickly dismiss. You would not want that.

So be sure to monitor the Page ranking on a weekly basis to determine whether there is movement, even if it is still as low. If it looks like the trend is your friend, then you can be sure that their efforts have impact.

However, if the page does not seem to be, then you're doing something wrong. You need to lean on someone else to help to get the job done.

The statement is here are constantly vigilant to ensure that you have a certain effect on the rank of pages you charged with the optimization. Avoid to wait too long to seek assistance or it could be too late.

    6. Not the realization of a client is always

a Seo Professional, you know that there are only a few things in your professional life worth more as a client. Therefore you should bend over backwards to jump through hoops and take all reasonable victims are necessary in order to keep your customers happy.

If you want to know how valuable customers, start with the calculation of the cost to purchase. You will find in the rule that it is better to spend a little more (in terms of time and money) to hold that the client than it is to find a new one.

The key to this lies in the practice of the-world customer service so that your customers are always satisfied with their work. This way you keep the customers they have and probably a few more with mouth-to-mouth advertising.

To go beyond the call of duty when it comes to your customers an outstanding experience. Thank you with the long-term revenue. Go the extra mile is always rewarded.

On the other hand, if you lose a customer, it is also very important to never leave you with a bad taste in the mouth. Always try your best to end on the right foot.

You are likely to run again in your professional life. The most important point is that even if something goes wrong and the relationship ends, do their best to make a stand-up man. You will probably be using you again.

    Summary

if you are a SEO-newcomer, you are likely to be errors. You will need to commit but not necessarily the ones that I have dealt with here.

Give your career a early promotion by learning from the mistakes of others and not your own. Good luck with your ranking!
