36 ways to make extra money

We've all heard a million times before ... The key to getting ahead is to live below your means. It is so simple. In fact, even our eight-year-old knows how to become a millionaire. So why is so spend less than you earn? I think a big part of the problem is that spending less money is not much fun. But guess what? There is another side of the equation. With that in mind, I thought I compile a list of ideas to earn extra money.

Make more money from your current job ...

A logical place to start when trying to improve their lot in life instead concentrating on its current line of work. Here are three different ways to get more of his work:

• Ask for a raise. One of the easiest ways to make extra money is to get more of what you are already doing. With this in mind, you should work to excel in their work, build a case, then ask for a raise. 
• Position yourself for a promotion. Another great way to make more of his work is getting an upgrade to a better paid position. Do what you can to excel. Go beyond the call of duty throughout the workplace and consider taking advantage of training opportunities that can be found.  
• Finding a new job. A great way to increase their purchasing power is to get a job. Even if it's a lateral move, especially if it is not, change jobs is a great way to increase your salary.

• Get a second job. While the labor market is tight and getting tighter, picking up a second job is a sure way to earn extra money.
• Take a paper route. Paper paths are not just for kids, and can usually knock during the predawn hours, so it does not interfere with work.
•  Deliver phone books. The weekend got the latest edition of "The Real Yellow Pages" delivered to our door. You will not get rich, but not particularly difficult, and you can do in your free time.
• Make yardwork / lawncare. More and more people are outsourcing their lawncare. Why not get a piece of the action? You can make some money and get some exercise at the same time.
• Pala (or plow) snow. For those in cold climates, you can make good money to remove snow. Again, you can also get a good workout. Sure, the snow is not as predictable as the growth of grass but is a great alternative during the winter months.
• Clean homes or offices. As lawncare and snow removal, there are plenty of people out there looking for help at home.

• Start pet-sitting. I know from personal experience that there is good money on pet care ... When we travel we have to find someone to address our bearded dragon (seriously), and always spending more than we should.
• Becoming a tutor. Do you live near a high school or college? Are there issues that you are particularly good? If so, then consider tutoring at your leisure.
• Teaching a language. For those who are lucky enough to be fluent in a second language, you can make money teaching others. In some cases, people even pay for a chat over coffee with a "partner" who is fluent in the language they are learning.
• Become a substitute teacher. Depending on your educational background, this can be a good source of cash, especially for mothers at home who want to return to the workforce, but they want their children time to adapt.
• Become an ump / ref to a local sports league. Around here, sports leagues are always looking for competent referees. Games are usually scheduled around office hours, and worth quite well.
• Make freelance web design. If you have the skills, there are a number of online resources to find gigs of web design. If that does not work, go out in your community. A lot of small businesses do not have much of a presence on the web, and could use your help. 
•  Do some freelance writing. As is the case for web design, there are a number of online resources to find writing gigs. Dig a little and see if you can find something that suits your interests.
• Start a blog on a lucrative niche. This site is a good example of the fact that you can make money from blogs. It's not easy, but it certainly can be done.
• Become a mystery shopper. Again, there are tons of information online, and there are even books about it.

•  Participate in marketing focus groups. In fact, I became a bit like a child because we lived near a toy company / game. Thanks to Ashley for the tip.

•  Collect and recycle aluminum cans for cash. While there is a huge amount of money on this, it's an easy thing to do, and the environment is clean. This is the very definition of a win-win.
•  Sell advertising space in your car. Depending on your location, make and model of your vehicle, and your daily commute, you can actually make a lot of money for what an advertising agency "wrap" your car with ads.
•  Rent out a spare room. We got an extra room in your house / apartment? Consider renting. You not only pay rent, but you will also be able to recover part of their utility costs.
